House Blessing
You are most welcome to make an appointment with our priest for the blessing of your home.

The typical liturgy used is as follows:
THE BENEDICTION OF A HOUSE
The priest shall make the sign of the Cross on the front door and say:
PEACE be to this house, and to all who shall dwell in it. In the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
O GOD, the Father of all the families of the earth: Fulfill, we beseech You, the desire of Your servants, and grant to this house the favour and protection of Your presence; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Then shall all gather in the living room:
Then shall be read the Psalm: Psalm 121
Then shall be read the Lesson: Luke 10: 38-42
Then shall the chaplain say: The Lord be with you.
Answer: And with your spirit.
Let us pray.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
Christ, have mercy upon us.
Lord, have mercy upon us.
OUR FATHER Who art in heaven, Hallowed be Thy name, Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, But deliver us from evil. Amen.
O MERCIFUL SAVIOUR. Who with Your presence did hallow an earthly home at Nazareth: Send Your blessing, we beseech You, on all who shall dwell in his house, that, being preserved both in body and soul, they may offer to You a faithful and willing service; Who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end. Amen. (Luke 2)
————
The priest, and those who accompany him, shall then proceed to the various rooms, the following prayers being said:
IN THE BEDROOM
O LORD GOD, the Keeper of Israel, Who neither slumbers nor sleeps: Guard, we beseech You, those who shall take their rest within these walls. Protect them during the silent hours of the night, and grant that, refreshed by Your gift of sleep, they may wake to serve You faithfully in the work to which You shall call them; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Psalm 121)
IN THE STUDY
BLESS, O Lord, we beseech You, your servants, who labour in this place: May this also be a place for recollection and prayer, and the study of Your holy Word, that by wise counsel and good example they may guide all who live in this household in the way of truth, and finally inherit Your everlasting kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Matthew 6:6; 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
IN THE BATHROOM
O LORD GOD, whose blessed Son did sanctify water to the mystical washing away of sin; Grant that those who wash outwardly here may ever be reminded of the inward cleansing they received in their baptism, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (Ephesians 5:26: Titus 3:5)
IN THE KITCHEN
O LORD GOD, before Whom the Angels serve, and by whose will we minister to the needs of others; Sanctify this place with Your blessing, that they who serve herein may ever be mindful of Your presence and of the example of Your blessed Son, our Lord and Master Jesus Christ. Amen. (Revelation 4 and 7)
IN THE DINING ROOM
O LORD GOD, Who gives us all things richly to enjoy: Bless, we beseech You, those who shall gather here, and grant that, whether they eat or drink, or whatever they do, they may doall to the glory of Your holy name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (1 Corinthians 10:31)
IN THE LIVING ROOM
O LORD JESUS CHRIST, Who was a welcome guest in the house of Your friends at Bethany: Visit, we beseech You, this house, and grant that those who meet in this room may be of one heart and soul, and dwell in love and peace together according to Your laws, Who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Ghost, one God, world without end. Amen. (Luke 10:38-42)
————
The priest and people then being gathered together in the living room, the priest may give a brief address, which may be followed by a hymn and concludes with prayer:
Let us pray.
O GOD, our Father, in Whose house are many mansions: Surround this dwelling, we beseech You, with the wall of Your protection, and grant that, this life ended, Your servants may come to that home which You hast prepared for them that unfeignedly love You; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen (Psalm 122:7; John 14:2)
THE LORD bless you and keep you. The Lord be with you in your going out and in your coming in, from this time forth for evermore. Amen. (Deut 6:24-26; Ps 121:8)
